Hi I’m Lewis, a music composer with a few other strings to my bow!
I love writing and producing all styles of music. I started practising music at the age of 11 when I got my first guitar and have been picking up new instruments and software, using digital audio workstations, and producing all kinds of music ever since. I have fallen in love with all kinds of audio disciplines including sound design, mixing and mastering, gaming audio integration, and dynamic music… if it’s anything to do with audio, I’m into it!
I have worked in game and film audio since 2017 and my current role is as a Sound Designer at Soundcuts! My work includes creating sound effects, composing music, dialogue editing, and VO directing. I also carry out audio implementation with Wwise and make the occasional overly-detailed spreadsheet (my guilty pleasure). As Soundcuts is an audio outsourcer, we work on a whole variety of projects. Whether it’s a small indie game or a huge AAA project, I help make sure they sound the absolute best they can!
I was very kindly shortlisted in the sound category for the Game Dev Hero Awards in 2021. Thank you again to those who nominated me!
WHERE CAN YOU FIND ME?
I’m based in the UK in Bristol, but occasionally pop up in Guildford or London for special occasions.
I’m always looking to get involved with the game dev community. I’m a frequent attendee of networking events, pub meet-ups, game jams, BAFTA events, and conferences around the UK! As well as going to every event I can, I also organise meet-ups which you can hear about on my twitter.
I organise the Guildford Game Audio Meetup a few times a year with Alyx Jones and it’s a lovely way to catch up with audio folks in the area! If you’re interested, you can find out more and when we run them on our Guildford Game Audio Website.
I also help my friend Jake Basten in running the Game Audio South West (GASW) meetups in Bristol. You can find updates about this on the GASW Facebook page.
If you’re Guildford based you may also remember me running the Tuesday Drummond Gamedev Monthly with Sam Swain (and before that Keith Judge). We are looking to start up again soon post-coronavirus so look out for that if you are in the area.
Lewis was an absolute pleasure to work with, not only a great composer but very hard working and diligent. I’d gladly work with him again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to others.Dave Newby, Soundcuts
Lewis is an enthusiastic and talented developer, as well as an enjoyable person to work with. He has an eye for detail which was really appreciated. Lewis made a big, positive contribution to the project he was assigned, and raised quality across the board. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Lewis again in the future.Ben Ward, Supergonk
Lewis has worked with me on several game projects to compose the music and sound. His work is thoughtful to the needs of the user, the game, and has finesse that brings the experience to a whole new level.Jerry Berg, Bliz Studios
